PnP site map & analysis

The PnP site map is done, after many hours. Whilst going through the site map there are some aspects of the site that I realized are problematic and could be rectified in order to make the site as a whole more efficient.

One problem was the number of URL's that are present, the number is larger than I initially expected, being over 20 in total. This can cause the site to be disjointed and disrupt the user experience and result in aspects of the website that the user may not be aware of because of this. A possible solution for this would be incorporating everything into two or possibly one URL, separating into the two categories, the first being lifestyle & shopping and the second being all financial related pages.

Another problem is the categorization of the available products within the online shopping page, as I was doing the site map I came across a large number of repeated categories, this could be rectified by re-categorization to make the site smaller and more understandable for the user and also providing for faster shopping. An example of this could be the wine section, I found that there where a lot of categories that were repeated which could have been incorporated into other categories.

The reason for doing the site map of the PnP website was in order for us to get a greater scope of the website in its entirety, and the problems that may exist with in its information architecture. Once that these problems came apparent we then formulate solutions in order to create a better strategy for the PnP website.
