Website status

This is how the home page is currently looking. As you can see the global navigation is in place. Next, on the to do list is the corporate landing page. As you can see we have tried to apply a new fresh and homely appeal to the PnP online shopping experience.

Wireframes

This is an example of the wireframe of our Home page. There is one URL, and two Global navigation styles one for "online shopping" and "fresh living" and the other global navigation for the corporate details.

Current Status

Since the successful presentation on Monday the 1st of June. we have started developing the revised HTML site. Brendon is currently focusing on the document, whilst Chris is creating the HTML layout and Gavin is designing the visual architecture of the new and improved site. I am assisting in all fields giving my input where necessary. For the visual design, our focus is to give it a "fresh living" theme. One that that has a touch of life, eg. nature and happiness and sociability, as the PnP tagline is "inspired by you".

Strategy Implementation steps

Make the entire website more user friendly by giving it a more human feel... Adding pictures/images relevant to each section of the website. Introduce a new local and global navigation style.

Reduce amount of clicks when navigating through each and every content page by introducing innovative online strategies such as breadcrumbs, roll overs and an improved visual hierarchy and design.

Addition of new services such online payfine, tv licence fascility, water and electricity, phonebillls and airtime.

Introduction of a forum website where customers can create their own profiles and share information and tips on current issues, lifestyle events, content within the website, etc.

Make the trolley more interactive in terms of functionality and log-in information.

We've taken our post-it collection and formalized it into an I.A diagram, this is a snippet of it. If we included the whole thing it wouldn't fit on 3 A1 pages. we are currently working on wireframes that will work with our I.A, posts of them will follow shortly

Card Sorting and IA

We have completed our card sorting in an attempt to restructure and organize the Information Architecture of the Pick n Pay website. It was a very engaging process that provided sufficient insights to information architecture and navigation development.

We used sticky notes in order to stick different products/elements under their corresponding categories.

We are currently analyzing the results and incorporating it into our information architecture strategy. This will then be uploaded as soon as it is completed.
